This year’s National Apprenticeship Week 2025 got off to an exciting start at de Novo with a special visit from Rebecca Evans, the Welsh Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy, and Planning. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the incredible apprentices at the heart of de Novo’s success and to highlight how apprenticeships are helping to shape the future of tech.

Since de Novo’s launch in 2021, apprentices have played a huge role in the company’s growth, driving the development of cutting-edge cloud solutions in finance, HR, payroll, and procurement. This week, we’re excited to celebrate our apprentices Aaron Lewis, Brogan Williams, Jason Hawes, Louis Gabica, Ryan Bartlett, Thomas Hughes, and Zara Baig, whose hard work and dedication continue to make a real impact every day.

A Day to Remember

Rebecca’s visit was a chance for our apprentices to share their stories and showcase the incredible work they’re doing. It was a real privilege to have her see firsthand how they’re helping to transform business operations with the latest tech, from Oracle Cloud to AI-driven solutions. Our apprentices aren’t just learning on the job—they’re actively contributing to the success of de Novo and helping to lead the charge in digital transformation.

Mark Sweeny, Founder and CEO of de Novo, shared his excitement: “Our apprentices bring fresh ideas and a huge amount of energy to the company. They’re part of everything we do and help us stay at the forefront of innovation.”

Looking to the Future

This visit really underscored the importance of apprenticeships in closing the skills gap in tech. At de Novo, we’re not just creating the next generation of talent for our team—we’re helping to support the growth of Wales as a key player in the tech industry. By working with amazing partners like the University of South Wales, we’re giving apprentices the best training, experience, and opportunities to build long-term careers in digital technology.

It’s an exciting time to be part of the de Novo team, and we can’t wait to see what our apprentices will achieve next.
