The idea that vulnerability and accountability are key for tech leaders, even if they don’t scream “tech” at first glance is explored – with the firmly held view that showing vulnerability is a strength rather than a weakness. This might translate into asking your team for ideas, letting them shine, and getting everyone excited about the goals they’ve helped shape. Studies back this up too, showing that those who join in goal-setting are more proactive in the long-run.
Leaders must work to keep their teams on track, but at the same time ensure that they look after their physical and emotional wellbeing AND listen to feedback and adjust accordingly.
